Our Story

Since 1979, American Panel has been protecting homes with thoughtfully designed hearth solutions. As a leading manufacturer, the company offers a full range of protection, from Hearth Pads and Ember Defenders to accessories like pedestals, frames, and wall pads. Each product is built to guard against heat from freestanding stoves while complementing your home’s style.

Originally based in Western Montana, the company began crafting and distributing Hearth Pad products with a focus on high-quality protection and developing designs customers loved. Two decades after its founding, the company moved its base to Grand Haven, Michigan, where it is currently located. 

In 2007,the owners, Jeff and Ann Kreiser, created Hestia Inc. for the sole purpose of acquiring American Panel, Inc. By June of 2007, the acquisition was complete, and the Kreisers began expanding American Panel’s Hearth Pad distribution, while developing new ways to reinforce safety through innovative craftsmanship. 

The company’s history has continued to be marked by milestones such as the name change to American Panel Hearth Products, the acquisition of Hearth Classics, the renaming of Hestia to Classic American Hearth, and the transition of both brands under Classic American Hearth. Throughout its history, the company has made both small and large improvements to safety and protection, while introducing new styles and design concepts to better meet customer needs and exceed expectations.
